Establishment of Intelligent Transport System for Better Urban Transport

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in the field of transport is known as intelligent transport systems (ITS) and has been used to improve transport efficiency leading to positive economic and environmental outcomes. For example, advanced signalling systems that evaluate traffic volumes and routing options have been utilized to direct vehicle users to less congested routes in developed countries. At the same time, quality public transport systems have benefited from numerous ITS applications, including automatic vehicle location (AVL) technology, real-time customer information, and eco-driving indicators. As quality public transport systems are increasingly being implemented in the developing-nation context, the adoption of ITS components is key to ensuring the systems are car competitive and deliver services that are economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable.
