“DREAM – IT” project

Mrs. L. Ariunaa, CEO of Intec Company has served as a Board member for “DREAM-IT” project supported by International Development Research Center (IDRC) of Canada.

The “DREAM-IT” Mega Mongolia project is a holistic country program that focuses researchers on the inter-relationships of policy, innovation and the socio-economic effects of ICT and how these aspects of ICT are interdependent in making positive contributions – and if not, learning from any negative consequences – to the country’s development process.

It enables not only implementation of the sub-projects in different sectors (such as education, health, governance, environment, etc.) but also coordination, knowledge sharing, and learning from evaluation, across the projects at various levels, including at top strategic and planning levels. This coordination, combined with strong research findings and a well-crafted and thoughtful communication for influence plan, provides opportunities for evidence-based change and policy influence on ICT-related decision making process in sectors covered under Mega Mongolia project. Moreover, the Mega Mongolia project is designed in such as way that there is an opportunity for collaborative management of research projects, which enables coordination of sub-projects within and across sectors.

The “DREAM-IT” Mega Mongolia project is managed by Datacom Company since January 2009. The following activities were successfully implemented by “DREAM-IT” project team:

1. Providing support for 6 selected sub-projects in education, health, environment and governance.

2. Organizing capacity building activities for sub-projects’ team members and interested individuals, researchers, representatives of private sector, government and non-government organizations, academia and research institutions.

3. Providing support and assistance for networking and information sharing among sub-projects and other interested organizations and institutions.
