Call for case studies in English language

Call for Case Studies/Best practices of ICTD programs, projects and initiatives 
in CIS and Russian-speaking countries.
Background
United Nations – Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development, a part of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-APCICT/ESCAP), based in Incheon, Republic of Korea, has initiated and launched in June 2008 its flagship ICT Human Resource capacity building training programme entitled the ‘Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders’ (Academy). The programme comprises of a well-structured ICT for Development (ICTD) curriculum including an initial 8 modules as follows:
Module 1: The Linkage between ICT Applications and Meaningful Development
Module 2: ICT for Development Policy, Process and Governance
Module 3: e-Government Applications
Module 4: ICT Trends for Government Leaders
Module 5: Internet Governance
Module 6: Network and Information Security and Privacy
Module 7: ICT Project Management in Theory and Practice
Module 8: Options for Funding ICT for Development
All 8 existing modules were translated into Russian and Bahasa Indonesia, which are available both in hard and soft copies, freely and easily downloadable from www.unapcict.org/academy.
Description
In line with UN-APCICT/ESCAP’s commitments to ensure the wider dissemination of the content developed via the Academy, the Centre seeks contributions from qualified subject matter experts from Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Russian-speaking countries with ICTD case studies to enhance the relevance of the content to suit local contexts. The case studies will also be an important means of sharing best practices and highlighting effective solutions to common ICTD issues and constraints.
The case studies are intended to be used by UN-APCICT/ESCAP and its national and sub-regional partners during Academy workshops and will be integrated into the curriculum as per need in order to localize the training content.
Selected case studies will also be featured on UN-APCICT/ESCAP’s online portal – the e-Collaborative Hub (e-Co Hub, www.unapcict.org/ecohub) to serve as a reference for policymakers who are supporting or planning to support ICT human capacity building for development. The e-Co Hub intends to generate opportunities for networking, collaboration and implementation of new solutions among different organizations and individuals. Moreover, some of the case studies will be featured on the ‘Academy Partners Resource Centre’, another online resource aimed at facilitating interaction and knowledge sharing amongst Academy partner organizations from the national and sub-regional levels.
Some selected authors of the case studies identified from amongst the pool of contributors may be invited to present and share their case studies at the ‘Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders’ workshops organized by UN-APCICT/ESCAP or its partners in the CIS and other Russian-speaking countries. UN-APCICT/ESCAP will cover the travel cost of the invitees.
Timeframe:
March 15: Distribution of “Call for case studies”
March 22:  Expression of interest to submit case studies are received
March 31:  Consultation and communication with field experts on case studies: titles, areas of coverage, template, format, etc.
April10: Final date to receive case studies.
April 20: Review by Review Panel and finalization of case studies
April 30 English language translation, editing, reviewing, and confirming of final version of case studies.
