Major milestones of Intec in 2008

Upon extensive review of works provided by Intec Co. Ltd to BHP Billiton Mongolia office for last two years, the decision was made to extend contract for another year.

Following mission of team of International Development Research Center (IDRC) in July 2007 and participation of Ms. L. Ariunaa at the Global Knowledge Forum in December 2007, Intec has been engaged through ITCS Co. Ltd to work on the planning and development of the “Holistic Mongolia Programming” project.
As part of this program, extensive works were carried out to identify progress of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) development in Mongolia, including review of policy and regulatory documents issued by Ministers and directors of government agencies; cooperation and consultation with the stakeholders on projects and activities implemented in Mongolia to advance development of ICT in the country as well as undertake study tours to Canada and Philippines to learn from their experiences on applying ICT in health, education, agriculture, science and technology and good governance. 
Intec has been approached by Pact Mongolia to work on “Public Access to Information” project of University of Washington, supported by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The work involved review of existing projects, activities and initiatives to enable public access to information in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Mongolia in phase I. Upon successful completion of reports for these countries, Ms. L. Ariunaa has been engaged to conduct in-depth study in Kyrgyzstan in June, 2008.

Intec has contacted with United Nations Asia Pacific Center for ICT (UN-APCIC) to work on piloting modules of Academy of ICT essentials for government leaders in Mongolia. As part of this cooperation, Ms. L. Sayanaa participated in the Training of Trainers (TOT) in Seoul, Korea in June, 2008. The National Workshop of Academy of ICT essentials for government leaders was held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in December 2008, during which Ms. L. Ariunaa and Ms. L. Sayanaa participated as main resource persons for this workshop. Discussions were carried out on expanding this Academy together with the Academy of Management of Mongolia.
